Cold sores (also called fever blisters) are small, fluid-filled blisters caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV), usually appearing on or around the lips. They can be painful, tingly, or itchy, and may recur. Pharmacists can assess and prescribe appropriate treatment or referral if needed.
